Saturday Reading: Three New Poems

Sonnet #4

I have returned to say I’m on a plane.
Because outside the people want to swim.
They want to taste the wine made from the rain,
And dream of flying through the clouds and wind.
The ground beneath my soul is moving me
To places I don’t even know or’ve felt.
Above Hawaii anchors’ songs dive deep
For those who’ve left their feet where waves have swelled.
I’m not sure which route to take tonight.
The southern sky glows over Chile’s peaks.
Do transient mysteries flow from dark or light,
And do we feel our way or do they speak?
Dear hostage what is it that they will take
To free your heart inside the trap they made?
